We love our city and state. We see great beauty in the people, the places and potential of Detroit. Let's help the rest of the world see it through our eyes.

Enter the "Picture a Brilliant Detroit" photo contest sponsored by Scate Technologies and Motor City Connect. Snap a photo showing a bright side of our region. It could be as simple as a holiday light display, a child laughing, our beautiful surroundings, or fascinating architecture. It could tell a story about what smart businesses and cool people are doing in our area. It could shine a light on great things about our hometown.

Just take your photo, upload and share your photo on ScreenTweet before December 23rd.

Rules & Details

DEADLINE EXTENDED December 23nd (submission deadline is 11:59 a.m. On the 23nd) take pictures on your phone or camera and upload them to ScreenTweet (ScreenTweet is an amazingly cool product by award winning Scate Technologies that allows people to share photos on web sites like twitter, linkedin, facebook, digg and more).

In keeping with our theme of "Brilliant Detroit", pictures should show the bright side of our area. It could be as simple as holiday lights or it could tell a story about what smart businesses are doing around here.

Judging will take place at noon on December 23rd and awards will be available by 2pm on that day.

In an effort to keep a level playing field (we have lots of great photographers in the group) pictures will be judged on how well it represents our brilliance as opposed to the overall quality of the photo.

If you have a twitter account, use it to create a ScreenTweet account by going to http://screentweet.com. Once logged in (you will use your twitter username and password) ScreenTweet will provide you with a unique e-mail address. Save that address in your address book and use it to upload pictures. Use the subject line of your e-mail as the caption for your photo. Be sure to type #BrilliantD in the subject line of your photo's screentweet so we can easily find your work.

If you don't have a Twitter account, it takes less than 1 minute to setup and is very easy to use. You can set it up at http://www.twitter.com. Both Twitter and ScreenTweet are free.
